Ethnic Identity and Immigrants' Labour Market Outcomes

The objective of this paper is to analyse how immigrants' ethnic identity correlates with their labour market outcomes. More precisely, we estimate the role in employment, wages, under-employment (i.e., they would prefer work more hours but are not given opportunity), three measures job satisfaction, overeducation and wages. We further explore whether economic downturn has a differentiated impact on these measures. Using Australian longitudinal data, find that strongly associated employment wages as well number satisfaction then split our data repeat estimations for before after Great Financial Crisis 2008-09. important differences way different outcomes under conditions. Finally, mechanisms through which some results could be explained.
